HagelSharp Software Consulting

The mission of HagelSharp Software and Consulting is to provide software applications, development services, and consulting services to businesses that must support and assist their knowledge workers, with an emphasis on the medical and legal fields.

HagelSharp Software and Consulting was founded in 2005 by an experienced software professional with a background which emphasized providing required information to knowledge workers in a timely and accurate manner.

Recent consulting and development efforts have been focused upon, and instrumental in, providing design and implementation of software for a multi-tiered medical questionnaire beta stage web and desktop applications, using Microsoft technology, as follows:

  • The design and definition of the Microsoft SQL SERVER 2005 database, including table definitions and an extensive set of supporting stored procedures and user defined functions.
  • A Windows desktop packaged application used by the medical informatician to development a structure of medical questions, including the criteria for specifying how subsequent questions would be asked as a result of user responses, and to then publish that collections of questions as a questionnaire.
  • An ASP.NET 2.0 web user application, available as service, which consumes the questionnaires created and published by the desktop package. This application uses an associated set of user and custom controls for a consistent user experience.
  • C# run time libraries supporting the desktop and web applications, specifically their application, business, and data access layers.
  • A common tool to define and implement ASP.NET membership and role based security across either or both the desktop and web applications

Future consulting and development plans include migration of the web server part of the application to the Windows Vista server environment, and the development of a Windows Mobile client (first the 5.0 for Pocket PC client, and then possibly the Smartphones client). Additional planning discussions concerning integration into the Microsoft Office 2007 and Microsoft Outlook environments are in progress.
